fall 2010 :: what to wear

your session is booked.
location is set.
now the inevitable question looms....
what to wear?

my first suggestion is ALWAYS to wear what you love. let your kids wear what they love. and SURELY let dad wear what he loves....within reason. :) bottom line is you want your session to feel like {you}....

If your baby girl LOVES to wear tutus....find one that will work with what everyone else is wearing -- or work around the colors in her favorite {tutu outfit}.

If big brother really wants to wear his cowboy boots....we'll make it work!

If dad only wears shorts {although I've been known to ask my darling husband to AT LEAST ditch the camo ones! :)} then go with it.....we want him to be happy, too. :)

sneak peek :: the weston family

after a slight location change {who KNEW huntington beach pier would be PACKED on the sunday before labor day?!?!? ;)}...thank goodness seal beach seemed to be unaffected by the holiday weekend. the sun may have taken the day off but there was plenty-o-fun to be had by the weston boys.....september gloom shloom!

halloween....in september!

that's right, folks. we here at the ray house looooovvvvveee us some halloween and, quite frankly, its a HUGE chore to drag all those decorations out for only a few weeks! so, in honor of the appearance of our halloween boxes being dug out of the garage {thanks, babe!} here are a few peaks from our trip to Mickey's Halloween Treat in 2009....

with the addition of baby brother, i'm amazed everyday how grown up my little girl suddenly seems. she's suddenly very into choosing her own clothes...AND accessories. seriously. we CAN NOT leave the house without at least one bracelet and a purse. and if she has her way...a tira. everyday. :)

as a mama, i'm lovin' her independence. well...most days. :)
and as a photog mama, i'm lovin' her sense of style. i couldn't have put this outfit together if i tried....

for those of you trying to figure out what to wear for your upcoming session, don't shy away from your toddlers dress up clothes! be brave and let them choose an outfit on their own as a second outfit choice....you won't be sorry -- i promise! :) even if its that batman costume he's been wearing since last halloween with the worn out areas and snags....that's who is is RIGHT now....which is priceless.

with holiday sessions booking fast, i want to send a quick shout out to all the moms out there who are always capturing {and creating!} the {everyday} moments for their kiddos -- but rarely having the chance to have the moments captured FOR THEM! these are YOUR moments, too! the good. the bad. and the lovely....no matter what happens the {day of} our shoot be ready to jump in a few pics. i don't care if you have no-make up and your glasses on...you'll be happy you did. i promise. :)
